Oscar Piastri has secured an even firmer grasp on the lead of the F1 drivers' championship after an exhilarating Canadian Grand Prix.
In a race that was not without its drama, Piastri’s performance positioned him 22 points ahead of teammate Lando Norris, who is currently in second place in the standings. "It’s incredible to see how far we’ve come as a team this season," said Piastri, highlighting the strengths of his McLaren team.
The results from the Canadian Grand Prix affirmed Piastri's superiority on track this season, bringing his total points to an impressive 198.

Following behind him, Norris amassed 176 points with two race wins. Despite suffering a setback during the race, Norris took responsibility, stating, "I think it was my fault; I misjudged the gap," reflecting on the incident that affected his race towards the end.
Max Verstappen from Oracle Red Bull Racing also made his presence felt, finishing in second place and now accumulating 155 points. "The car felt great out there today; it really helps to have some solid pace as we head into the next races," Verstappen remarked after the race, indicating a potential challenge to the McLaren dominance.
In fourth place is George Russell of the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team, who celebrated his first victory since the Las Vegas Grand Prix last year. "This win feels like a turning point for us," said Russell. His contributions have kept him an outside contender in the title race with 136 points.
As the 2025 season progresses, the constructors' championship is increasingly dominated by McLaren. The team has a commanding lead over Mercedes, gathering a total of 374 points, followed by Mercedes at 199 points. "Our performance has been consistent, and we’re all working hard to keep this momentum going," said McLaren team principal.
Kimi Antonelli’s achievement of securing his first career podium finish contributed to Mercedes' solid standing, while the midfield battle has seen Haas move ahead of Red Bull Racing in points, continuing an intense competition among teams below the top tier.
