However, an unanticipated mapping issue led to excess wheelspin at the start, allowing di Grassi to move ahead of him. Bird later struggled to reclaim his position from di Grassi, who consistently built his lead over the race.
After a round of mandatory pit stops, di Grassi maintained his dominant lead. He seemed set for a comfortable victory until the race concluded under the safety car due to a crash involving Ma Qinghua on lap 40. “It was unfortunate to end under the safety car, but I knew I could count on my pace throughout the race,” di Grassi commented.

Di Grassi's win extended his lead over Buemi to 11 points, pushing Bird firmly into third place despite his earlier mistakes. "I knew competition would be fierce today, but I aim to maintain my standing in the championship until the end, and I won’t let any mistakes hold me back," Bird expressed.
Jérôme d'Ambrosio managed to hold onto fourth place, yet his lead over Stéphane Sarrazin in fifth was trimmed to just six points. With only three races remaining in the season, the stakes are increasing as teams vie for both individual and team honors.
