Lando Norris has officially signed a new multi-year contract with McLaren, ensuring his presence with the team extends past the 2026 season. This strategic move by McLaren comes in light of increasing interest from rival teams in the young British driver.
Norris’s previous contract, which was established in 2022, was set to expire at the end of 2025. Reflecting on his new agreement, Norris remarked, “It’s a great feeling to be staying in papaya. I’ve grown up with McLaren and feel at home here; the team are like family to me. This announcement comes shortly after Ferrari confirmed the extension of their star driver Charles Leclerc’s contract, effectively taking two prominent names off the market. For McLaren, securing Norris alongside Oscar Piastri, who signed his contract extension last year, reflects a solidified trust between the driver and the team regarding their mutual aspirations to compete at the highest levels of Formula 1.
