INDIANAPOLIS (February 26, 2026) – In a significant announcement today, Andretti Global has confirmed that Jake Dennis, the reigning Season 9 World Champion, has signed a multi-year extension with Andretti Formula E. This contract solidifies a long-lasting partnership that will extend into Season 13 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship and beyond.
The timing of this announcement is particularly notable, coming exactly five years since Dennis first stepped into a Formula E car with Andretti at the Season 7 Diriyah E-Prix in 2021. Since that debut, Dennis and Andretti have built one of the most successful driver-team collaborations in the history of Formula E.
Joining the team during its era as BMW i Andretti Motorsport in Season 7, Dennis has emerged as the most successful driver within the Andretti Formula E framework. His impressive resume includes a championship title in 2023, seven race victories, and an astounding record of 700 career points, marking a pivotal period of competitiveness for the team in the Championship.
As he embarks on his seventh season in the all-electric series, Dennis's influence continues to set standards for fellow competitors. His trajectory has included finishing third in the standings during his rookie season and establishing numerous records, including the most points accumulated in a single season (229) and the highest number of podiums (11).
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be signing a multi-year deal with Andretti Global. For me, it made perfect sense to continue our partnership and my career with the team, a team which I’ve been with from the start of my Formula E career,” said Dennis. He emphasized the importance of the trust and belief that the team has shown in him throughout his journey. “We’ve built something really strong together, and I’m proud to continue that journey with a group of people I know so well and genuinely enjoy working with,” he added.
The team principal of Andretti Formula E, Roger Griffiths, expressed enthusiasm over the renewed partnership. “I am beyond pleased to be able to make this announcement,” he stated. Griffiths reflected on the unexpected growth of Dennis's role since the initial partnership with BMW. “Jake has been an integral part of Andretti Formula E’s transformation into one of the series’ leading teams of today,” he noted, acknowledging Dennis's pivotal contributions to their shared success.
The new contract signifies a strong commitment from both sides, enhancing the team’s stability and ambitions for the seasons ahead. Dennis will be behind the wheel of the No. 27 Andretti Porsche 99X Electric as the team prepares for its next challenge. The upcoming race marks Formula E's debut in Spain, set to take place at the 2026 CUPRA Raval Madrid E-Prix on March 21.
With the ongoing evolution of Formula E, Dennis’s collaboration with the Andretti team looks promising as they aim for continued success in the highly competitive all-electric racing landscape. As they approach the next season, the excitement surrounding this partnership serves as a testament to the team's long-term goals and vision for future triumphs.
