The 2025 FIA Formula 2 Championship has reached its conclusion, marking yet another exciting chapter in the world of motorsport. Over 14 rounds of intense competition, the series served as a platform for young talent to display their skills, ultimately leading to the crowning of a new champion.
"This season was truly exhilarating, with battles that kept the fans at the edge of their seats," said Leonardo Fornaroli, the newly crowned champion from Invicta Racing. His stellar performance throughout the season saw him secure a commanding total of 211 points.
Fornaroli faced stiff competition from Jak Crawford, who ended the season with 170 points, tying with Richard Verschoor, also at 170 points. "The level of competition was fierce this year, and every race was a test of both skill and resilience," Crawford shared, reflecting on the challenges faced during the season.
Completing the top five were Luke Browning from Hitech TGR with 162 points and Alex Dunne from Rodin Motorsport with 149 points. Their journeys throughout the season were filled with impressive overtakes and strategic maneuvers on iconic circuits from Melbourne to Abu Dhabi.
"Each race taught me something new, and every podium felt hard-earned," Browning remarked, emphasizing his determination throughout the season.
The championship kicked off in Melbourne from March 14–16, echoing F1’s own calendar, and finished under the floodlights of Abu Dhabi in December. The series mirrored some of Formula 1's most legendary weekends, showcasing thrilling slips and tense turns.
The Constructors' Championship demonstrated the supremacy of Invicta Racing, which tallied a total of 316 points, positioning them firmly at the top. "We’ve worked incredibly hard as a team, and it shows in our results," noted a representative from Invicta Racing, citing the collective effort behind the team's success.
Hitech TGR and Campos Racing followed closely with 278 and 258 points respectively, underscoring the competitive nature of the series and the escalating race for supremacy among teams. "It's a testament to our commitment and teamwork," said a spokesperson for Campos Racing, reflecting on their strong season performance.
The grid for 2025 also saw remarkable contributions from other drivers, such as Arvid Lindblad of Campos and Diego Beganovic from Hitech TGR, who consistently pushed their limits. As the competition heated up, Victor Martins from ART Grand Prix and Sebastian Montoya of PREMA Racing made notable impacts, proving the depth of talent in this championship.
"Being part of Formula 2 is challenging, but it is undoubtedly preparing us for the next level," shared Montoya. His sentiments resonate with many drivers, as F2 remains the primary route to Formula 1.
As the season came to a close on December 7, 2025, the final standings encapsulated the fierce competition and passion for racing among the drivers and teams involved. The standings reflected not just the points accumulated but the personal growth and development of each athlete throughout the season.
Looking forward, the journey continues for these emerging stars in the high-octane world of motorsport as they build on their experiences from this season. With the next F2 season on the horizon, fans and teams alike are already eager to witness how they will fare against one another in future challenges. "There's no doubt that every driver is gunning for the top, and I can't wait for the battles to resume," Fornaroli expressed, hinting at the excitement to come.
